View Full Version : Broadcast WAV Timestamp?

I see that Samp Producer 2496 ver 6.04 claims to support Broadcast WAV, but I do not see a field for the SMPTE UMID position timestamp data. So, is it actually possible to Import B-Wav files from a Pro Tools or Nuendo project and have them insert into the Samp project at the correct time position?
And, is it possible to Export Samp project Track clips with this timestamp so that they could be Imported into a Pro Tools or Nuendo Project? The Samp Help says nothing about this, and the Broadcast Wave Extension dialog has no SMPTE UMID timestamp field.
???
Thanks

Unfortunately not yet - they're working on it now though so it should be in one of the next releases - maybe 6.51 or so...

cheers

gee martin that way you talk you make it seem as though v6.5 has already been released...

(I know I know 6.5 standard is already finished and in the distribution houses [or supposed to be]... but its been sitting there for I think about a month now... pretty safe to call it unreleased and undistributed and some may even argue unfinished... and from a business standpoint - completely finished... something can only sit on the warehouse shelves so long before its time to clear it out by any means necessary and make room for the new products... its a fact of common business practice)

now all that being said, I don't think 6.5 is FINISHED (in the big way)... but I can easily see how others may...

now all that being said, I think I just took this topic way OT

A word on that...
Emagic isn't distributing 6.5 until sept. 30th. Just happens to coincide with the cut-off for pc logic.
I would be curious to know why you think 6.5 isn't finished.

Thanks for Broadcast Wav info guys, it is not the answer I was hoping for, but at least now I know to stop looking for the timestamp function!

when i say 6.5 I mean 6.5 Pro... its still in beta testing (the last I heard)... I know 6.5 standard is finished... if u had actually read my post, you would have seen that....

and at the end when I said I don't think 6.5 is FINISHED... I meant that I don't think 6.5 is toast... the big finish... done for... again if you had read the entire post, you would have gotten that.

**is this what you said? if so I did read it and it says that some say 6.5 standard isn't finished. I'm not making a comment either way, just asking for information. I made the comment that it is sitting on the shelves until sept. 30th. Next time read your own damned post ******* ...
