ok, i record in stero right, but is it better to master in mono and THEN export in stero, or does it make a difference?

You should record mostly in mono. There are exceptions like keyboards or guitars played through stereo equipment but most tracks will be mono. Use the Pan sliders (or knobs depending which skin you are using)to place the instruments in the stereo picture and Mix to Stereo - always.
That help?

merry mixing!

Hey G - It's a stereo world out there, so your mixing, mastering, burning, publishing, etc. should all be done in stereo unless you have a particular customer who for some reason needs mono.
Your tracks are probably going to be a mixture of stereo and mono tracks. Most synths have stereo outs, and sound much better recorded in stereo. Same goes for drum sequencers or modules. Acoustic instruments almost always sound better recorded with stereo miking. Vocals, bass guitar, individual miked drums, are usually recorded in mono, and then panned out to the stereo buss in mixdown to take their place in the stereo field. Once you've mixed down to a stereo file, any subsequent processing or mastering should be done in stereo. Then if you for some reason need a mono mix, you can convert the stereo master to mono.
Hope that helps, RD
