Can anybody explain to me why all tracks in Samplitude seem to be stereo tracks, even when using only mono wav.'s. I understand Windows' limitation to stereo pairs, but that should only concern in/output routing. When switching between "reset to mono" and "reset to stereo", or between "multi in/out" and "stereo mixer" it seems Samplitude doesn't have a clue either.
I use Samplitude 6.04 with 3 sienna cards connected to a hardware mixer.

When selecting a record device, you need to select whether to record in mono or stereo. To do this right click on the record button for a given track and you'll see the options available.

I know. Sorry if I wasn't clear enough. It's just that when I've recorded some mono tracks, the mixer still seems to work in stereo. Which is not a big deal, really. But when I switch between stereo mixer and multi in/out (I use the hardware mixer mainly for monitoring) the routing gets messed up. It doesn't route, say, track 1 & 2 to stereo output pair 1, but track 1 to the left of output pair 1 and track 2 to the right of output pair 2. So on my hardware mixer track 1 is found on input 1, but track 2 is found on input 4. It just doesn't follow my "track properties" settings!
When using "reset to stereo", track 1 & 2 are both panned center & routed to output pair 1, which is strange when you consider that each of those 2 tracks IS a stereo track. When Using "reset to mono", track 1 is panned left, track 2 panned right and both routed to output pair 1. Which is OK, but then both tracks are linked, so they act
as a stereo pair again!
Can anyone explain this to me?
