Well, after an exaustive research, i'm finnaly getting the best desktop configuration I can afford. Only one question remains: About mobility. Seems to me that we can't trust on a laptop for heavy DAW use. Or am I wrong?
If so, what are the best choices?
Since i'm travelling often, a laptop would be much more comfortable for me to work.
Any advices?
thnks,
rc

Before I came to Cakewalk, I was running DP on my G3 PowerBook for a couple years with no problems - only joys, to be quite honest!

Now I'm running P5 and SONAR on a ThinkPad with equal success. I'm all about laptops.

I use a MOTU 828 box for audio in both instances - perfect for project studio work. I've also got USB mice and keyboards, and external monitors for when "I'm in the studio".

Really the amazing thing about using the laptop is that you can be "in the studio" at any time!

I've done multitrack recording with it, I use it in gigs for MIDI routing and for VJing, I've done location recording, the whole nine.

What is the spec of your ThinkPad? I also have a Motu828 and i'm wanting to get a laptop, but i'm finding it difficult to decide what to go for.
