After having recorded the first track, I set up the next track to be recorded using of course a different channel number ( i.e. first track was on channel's 1&2 while the new track 2 is on channels 3&4 ( or 3 if mono ), I then click on 'enable' to proceed with recording the new track. I click on the mixer and click the ' in' button to get a level for the new track while also monitoring the playback of the first track, at which time I note that this track 1's signal is also being input into this newly selected channel as well ( albeit at a minimal level but with a echo/delay added to it - no effects having been added so I think there must be some kind of loop? ). In other words, the new track's mixer channel strip is also receiving input from the first track ( albeit the level is more like a 'bleed' type ). If I go ahead and record the new track I also get the first track's music incorporated with whatever else I record on this new track. I note if I go into the Master Mixer area and decrease the faders to zero the signal stops ‘bleeding’ into the new track; however, I am then not able to monitor!. I’ve gone into rewire and also the VST Inputs but there doesn’t seem to be anything I can do or change to stop this from happening. Anyone know what in feck is going on?!

By the way, I have the VST/32 5 version of Cubase and I am using the Soundblaster Value card ( yes, hoping for an upgrade shortly, but until then will have to make do, unfortunately )

I cant remember rightly, but didnt the soundblaster series have an option in their control application to record 'what you hear'? That is, route everything that leaves the soundcards outputs automatically back into its inputs? If that is the case, this could explain why you are hearing whatyou just recorded. Sorry I can't be of any more help.

Ok, I may have had a blone moment there!. Thanks for the tip, I noted that the "What U Hear" option on the Soundblaster Mixer had in fact been checked off. Thus, I disabled it and it looks like this has solved the problem. Appreciate your help. Thanks again.
