I have a jv-880 sound module but I want to be able to control the patch name in cubase. Can Cubase be setup to load the differnet patch names and rember them. I used Cakewalk For about three years I'll say thats about the only thing I liked about it was it's ability to rember the patch names. Can some body please help Its a pain to have to manually setup the sound module ever time I load a different project

Create an Instruments for each channel going to your MIDI module (or for the output itself, if it's the only device on that MIDI output). As you set up each Instrument, specify a Cubase patchname document that will be the source of the names appearing in the Patchname pop-up. (The patchnames folder is inside the Scripts folder, there's one for your JV880.)
If you've customized your patches, be aware that the patchnames doc. is just a text file, you can edit these, and the format convention is pretty simple to figure out (but save a copy of your original first, OK?).
