I'm sure I will get immediately flamed by proponents of each program, but FWIW: For comparable ver. of these 2 prog's, the feature lists are extremely similar; both support similar ASIO HW, VST architecture & virtual instr., various levels of score printing, etc. Both are VERY idiosyncratic as to user interface (& are consequently a big adjustment if you're coming from more OS-conforming programs like Pro Tools or Digital Performer, for example) & there's a considerable learning curve in either case. They're both very "musical", though, as compared to more audio-oriented programs like Pro Tools, but you'll first have to learn how to deal with some pretty odd conceptual critters. I would say that Logic has usually had a slight edge in elegance/flexibility, espec. in how audio mixing/editing is handled (which Cubase seems to be finally addressing in latest SX version), & seems to be slightly better equipped to immediately react to new CPU's, operating systems & audio hardware. (They already support Pro Tools HD hardware, for example.) That being said, I use Cubase myself! I know it's a huge download & a big effort to learn enough even to get a reasonable impression, but really you should check out the free demo version of each program. If you're like most people, one or the other will just seem to click better with your mindset. And reasonably, I don't think it can be said that either one has any major functional limitation that will be a problem in your future.
