With my LP collection @ over 500 + CD's, tapes, looking for help into research for a
"good, known to work well" format for archiving & organizing my complete music collection.

Format Wise;
All my analog & digital music on one
convenient machine.
I started to archive everything
on cd's w/a 400 cd changer & after awhile, notice that cd's are skipping because of getting scrached by the changer, (plus the fact that everything isn't going to fit).

In the end, I want to have "all" my music
in one place w/all the advantages of a CD changer, (group list, play all, store everything), w/cd text of artis, LP, song title, etc., w/out the disadvanges of of having to flip/change the record every 20-25 min., change cassette tapes, etc.

Organizing Wise;
An alphabetical list of ALL bands w/titles & song tracks @ the click of a mouse.
List All, Search by Album, Song Type, Song,
Playback by; Group list, Artis, Random All Play, etc.

Yes I know the project I'm into, (all my albums alone @ 1-2 per day would be over a year),....but, the convenience is all worth it,....every LP, CD, Tape, all @ the click of a mouse,....the ability to pull a chip & plug it into a boombox, my car, whatever, (I know not every tune but,....) plus, I hear albums I haven't heard in YEARS!!!

Thanks,

Michael

Think MP3. http://www.audioforums.com/forums/biggrin.gif

I archived all my Cd's, tapes, and Lps to my harddrive and use smart-media in my personal audio player, and my car. Sure does make it easy to find stuff. http://www.audioforums.com/forums/smile.gif
