I've got the PA9 that came bundled with my Aardvark Direct Pro and am about to buy the Sonar 2 upgrade.
Cakewalk had the "Upgrade to 2.0 XL from Pro Audio" on sale a couple weeks ago for $199, but I missed it and it's now back up to $249 http://www.audioforums.com/forums/frown.gif
(The Sonar 2.0 non-XL upgrade is only $149)
Several other online vendors are right now selling something called the "competitive upgrade" for $199. Will this upgrade version work with my PA9 or does it specifically check for exactly and only the explicitly enumerated competitive products before it will install and work?
Yeah, I'm a cheapskate and only have about $200 left in my budget to buy software right now and really would like to have Sonar, but that extra $50 would keep me from paying the rent this months http://www.audioforums.com/forums/biggrin.gif.
Is the XL really that much more worthwhile over the plain non-XL version of Sonar 2.0? I'd really like to have those 64-bit Sonic Timeworks EQ and compressor features but are they really worth $100 extra?
