Okay I laid down the first track and when I go to record the second track, it re-records the first track with what I'm playing on track 2, kind of like it's bouncing the first track down to the 2nd and I don't want it to. I'm using an audiophile 2496 and have a bevy of options as far as routing, oh yeah and I'm using reaktor as a dxi effect. I can record it in midi, but I'd like to record it in audio. I hope this makes sense.

thanks for the try but I know that much http://www.audioforums.com/forums/smile.gif I'm using reaktor as a softsynth and that seems to be a little different than using a hardware synth..I've tried a bunch of different routing options...still can't get it, I can record it as a midi track, mute ALL the other tracks and do it that way...now I'm getting some funky dropout though when I try to run more than 3 tracks...*sigh* maybe I'll just crumble and go legit and drop some $$...never tell if this "evaluation" stuff is working properly http://www.audioforums.com/forums/smile.gif

Hello were you able to figure out anything on this issue?
Thanks,

This might sound dumb but,
sometimes there is a recording option (either in windows or for your sound card) for recording which is something like "What you hear" if so make sure that it's unchecked.
Otherwise everything you hear is recording to the one track you have armed.
Just my $.02
