I'm running 15 audio tracks in 16 bit with no other effects on - when I try to "apply effect" for a particular track, I get an error message saying I've run out of memory -and then Sonar shuts down. I've been able to apply effects in some other songs - the idea is that I'll save cpu usage. Any suggestions - I have 512mb ram with XP pro.

Sorry if this is a dupe, but I'm not sure if my reply posted. Are you trying to apply effects to groove clips? If so, try converting groove clips to "regular audio clips" with Bounce to Clips command. Then see if you can apply effects. This worked for me when trying to apply offline effects.

Thanks Tim - that did it! I guess my previous successful attempts were with audio clips only - I mistakenly thought groove clips worked the same way.
