Anyone with knowledge of both have any ideas on the benefits of GT Pro over GT 2? I've used GT 2 extensively and like it but want to upgrade(mostly for advanced drum controls and dynamics processing). I'm wondering if the basic interface is the same and also if I can import my GT 2 projects into GT Pro...any help would be appreciated.

I'd be interested in knowing as well.

I got GT2 a few months ago, just to test the waters so to speak, I have a 16 track analog setup, and wanted to see if I would enjoy the benefits of DAW recording. The only thing that I did with GT2 was a little acoustic piece with bass and some shakers.
I picked up GT PRO a couple of weeks ago because I liked using GT2, it was certainly easy enough for me to start learning on, but the ability to use multiple I/O cards and the $100 price tag for GT PRO made it too good to pass up.
Yes, the basic interface is the same, very easy to use, I even started getting into doing some editing, and Yes, I had no problem opening the file in GT PRO, however, I did have a problem trying to open the file up again in GT2, that's okay though, I like GT PRO so much better that I uninstalled GT2, it's kind of redundant if you have GT PRO anyway.
Now that I know my computer can handle playing back 24 tracks of audio, I'm even thinking of going with Sonar 2.0, the 16 effects at a time limitation of GT PRO is a little annoying to me, I would like to have the option of running EQ in real-time for as many tracks as needed, I just bought an M-Audio Delta 1010 setup, so that I can use external multi FX on the aux busses for reverb and such.
I hope I helped you out a little, I'm a complete newbie to this DAW approach for audio recording, learning as I go. I really do like GT PRO much better than GT2, with my reel to reel acting up again(some crackling on a couple of tracks), it may just be time to retire the old girl, and step into this new world of recording, I LOVE the editing! it definitely has a lot of things going for it, plus you don't have to clean and demagnetize the machine all the time!

So my copy of GT Pro arrived today and so now I've a problem:
I cannot hear the track that I'm recording. Playback works okay, and I can hear other tracks play as I record one, but it makes it kinda hard to play if you can't hear what you're doing, y'know?
I'm using GT Pro with a Delta-44 card, but I also have a Soundblaster Live! value installed on the rig. I've got all the inputs and outputs directed correctly, but I'm obviously missing something or I'd be able to hear myself play.
Any ideas?
