Newbie question,
I am using Sonar 2.0 XL and I was playing around with effects. Now every audio file i play in Sonar is buried in too much reverb and i can't seem to find how to turn the effect off. I have no audio being sent to Aux buses and thus this appears to be a global effect on the stereo output.
Maybe this is a RTFM problem but i can't find it, thanks in advance for any help.
Audio output is a Aark TDIF card to a Tascam TM-D1000 mixer (no effects on the mixer).
Thanks,
Glenn

No effects on A, B, C or D. I just discovered the effect is being applied to Windows Media Player as well, so I think somehow some effect is being applied by Windows.

well... sounds pretty strange!
Windows shouldn't be able to add any effects to the Aark card. The only thing I can think of is the reverb must come from your mixer which have 3 built-in (effects: reverb, delay, chorus, dynamics)...am I right? http://www.audioforums.com/forums/confused.gif
BTW what is your OS and does your soundcard have built-in DSP effects?

The OS is Windows 2000 Professional, P4. 2.53 GHz, 1GB memory RAMBUS. The Aark card is a simple TDIF interface, although it has a DSP it is only used for DMA processing of the 8 out x 8 in channels.
The TASCAM TM-D1000 mixer has eight effects processors which can be configured in different ways but all effects are off (adjusting the effect IN, DRY and EFF volumes don't effect output).
I will look into this tonight when i get home but i think my problem might be with the Microsoft SDK/DDK development environment - it is possible that the DirectX plug in effect is running permenantly with the Aark driver as a result of my experimenting with pin programming under DirectShow. You know a little knowledge is a dangerous thing ; - )

Maybe it's time to completely uninstall and then reinstall the Aark driver http://www.audioforums.com/forums/wink.gif

I uninstalled the Aark drivers, deleted the device and rebooted. The card was enumerated by PnP and that all went well. Then when I tried to run Sonar the Sonar icon flashed but Sonar did not start, hmmmmm. So i reinstalled Sonar and now all is fine, thanks for the assistance.
