this is most likely the stupidest question ever, BUT whenever i record midi in through my keyboard it ends up being recorded quantized... no matter how hard i look i can't seem to find an option to record quantized, only the process command... any suggestions?

are you looking for a quantize record option in Cakewalk? I'm not sure about that, but I have to remember to turn off the quantize on my keyboard. Does your keyboard have a quantize option? If so, try turning it off. Hope you get it worked out.

are you sure this isn't a midi resolution problem??? check this. its like trying to record 1/8 notes when there is only space for 1/4 ones. maybe you need to increase the res somehow.

well, the resolution is selected (don't remember the menu off the top of my head) at 960ppqn, which should be more than enough... i had a feeling perhaps the keyboard might be doing it, but i didn't realize that the keyboard would quantize during the performance... unless perhaps it was getting some kind of midi beat clock from sonar telling it the tempo and such... i'll have to dig into the keyboard's manual...
