ok ok ok im not sure ive come to the right place, but maybe someone can help me out her. I want to make my own midis out of some of my favorite mp3s/WAVs, but I'm not sure how to go about it. Now I know how to convert WAV/MP3 to MIDI, but in that way, I can only get it into one instrument... This is this key point, I need to have a multi-instrument midi. One, for example, that I can take out a specific instrument from if needed (ie the bass line). Is there any way to do that??????? Thanks for any help.

Hi,
could you tell what program do you use to convert solo Wav to MIDI? I'm trying to do this with differents programs, but I have always problems...

Hi there! yes, I'll second that... I'm using cakewalk home studio, and I have managed to ''insert' a WAV in, and saved this as a .wrk file - this works fine inside cakewalk, but when saved as a .mid file, and played on either mediaplayer or winamp, it sees nothing!! (blank file)

I would be gratefull if you can tell this idiot whats going wrong....:):)

When you save your work as a MIDI-file, only the MIDI-tracks will be saved, so all audio will get lost, because MIDI is not the same as audio and Cakewalk isn't able to convert it, i think.

Besides, the technology of today isn't that far enough for converting complex audio to midi succesfully.

try melodyne.... heard it is a good software to convert wave to midi.. if and only if you have all the tracks of one song seperate... you cannot bounce a two track master wav to midi... that would be like bouncing a male to a female

The problem is not only about track count;
it is mostly related to polyphonie.
