Just an FYI from someone who has built hundreds of computers: server or PC is about the same thing -- just words. My DAW is built in a server box because I wanted the extra wattage, fans, and drive spaces.
As for rack-mounting, I can only tell you that they screw you on the price because it's mostly a pro market (i.e. "servers"). My local distributor doesn't sell many but they are the balls for price: www.pixelusa.com (http://www.pixelusa.com)

SORRY to disagre with you on the server issue specialy when it comes to rackmount.
server rackmounts are made as servers in mind for the industrial industry.you need to be careful with rackmount chassis if you are gone use it for pc.
like for example, motherboard accomidation, pci slots and most importantly to be able to fit a full length pci card, like the powercore for example.which is 13" in length.and drives etc.
for the past week,i've been searching and researching all the sites on this issue,my hair got whiter.
