Strange phase or delay whith Ren compressor

I'm mixing a song that starts off with just two acoustic guitars panned hard left and right. They sound great but when I put a Ren Compressor on the main stereo outs they all most disapear. It's like there's some sort of delay that causes them to go out of phase. Has anyone else noticed this?

I need to get a little informationm from you, what operating system( Mac OS 9.1, Win2k, etc...), what audio application and version of the application are you using? What version of Waves do you have?

I use a pc, windows 98se, Samplitude 24/96 v5.92, and Ren collection 3.0.
