View Full Version : PT5.1 can't find L2 1.0.1

I downloaded the L2 upgrade from 1.0 to 1.0.1 and put the plug-in into the "Waves Plug-Ins 3.0" folder, replacing the old version. But when I start Pro Tools 5.1, it does not load the L2, so no session can instanciate it. It's just as if it does not exist.

Some things I noticed which may or may not be relevant. The other Waves plug-ins in that folder are of Kind "L2 authorizer 1.0b1 document", whereas the L2 1.0.1 is just a "document". I don't know how to change a file's "Kind" or if this would help. I ran the L2 authorizer again, but this had no effect. Also, I still have the "L2Lib 1.0" library file in the Waves plug-ins folder. Does it need an upgrade as well? Any ideas?

Thanks,
Jason

Jason,
Are there any error messages associated with this? You might try a preference trash, I will list the steps for this below.

1.) Find the Preferences folder in your System folder.

2.) Inside this first find the DAE Preferences folder. Place this in the Trash and empty the Trash.

3.) Then find the DigiSetup and place it in the Trash and empty the Trash.

4.) Find the Waves Preferences folder, and inside that find the WaveShell DAE Preference and place it in the Trash. Once again empty the Trash.

This will mean that you will have to help the WaveShell locate the Waves Plug-Ins folder again.

Please let me know if this helps.

Well, that certainly sounded promising, but in fact it didn't work. L2 1.0.1 is still in my Waves Plug-Ins folder, but when I opened Pro Tools and it asked me where the plug-ins were, it found everything except the L2. Any other ideas?

Thanks again,
Jason

Are you using a stereo track? Just a thought. The L2 does not pop up for mono tracks.

I installed the version 3.2 plug-ins today. The L2 problem is resolved.

Thanks,
