The function of the EQ trim for the Waves Renaissance equalizer and Q 10 is currently to adjust the gain (either positive or negative)so that the output is equal to 0db.

I request a feature that will allow the user to control the behavior of the EQ trim in two ways.
First by setting the trim button to a value. Trim = x If trim = -4.6 then pressing the trim button will adjust the gain of the equalizer that it's output will be equal to -4.6.
Secondly an "Automatic Gain Tracking" Activiating this feature will cause the Trim button to be auto-activated everytime the EQ curve is adjusted. This will similuate the effect of eqing and adjusting the gain to compensate for frequency changes simultaneously. This is somewhat similar to compression but is different because the boost/attenuation will always have a 1 to 1 ratio and it will affect the entire signal.

These two features would greatly enhance mixing and mastering by eliminating level adjustment from EQ sculpting. One could focus entirely on the EQ curve while having a predetermined output level.

Although I think your second idea is not simple to achieve (if at all) itīs a GREAT idea!
