Hello. I record a track with so many takes. I really only want to keep the last one that I like. Let's say I do track one but it takes three or four times to get it right. When I close CEP I just want the final good track but CEP is saving all the takes and I just want the one good one usually the last one. Can I find some setting where it will only save the last take of a giving track? Thanks

are you recording each track on a new "track?" i.e., recording the first take on track 1, second on track 2, etc? if so, then simply right click on the waveforms (tracks) you don't want before you close the session and choose "destroy block."

Hi. No, I am not doing the takes on different tracks. For example, if I do a guitar track , it would be on track 3, it may take me 5 takes before I get it right. When I do get the good one and Iclose CEP it saves all the takes so I wind up with 5 different files. I just want the one good one that I am going to use. Thanks

Hey!

Are you right-clicking to remove takes that you know you do not want to keep? Make sure that you click "Destroy Block", it will remove the take and if it is not saved it will be closed and forever lost. If you click "Remove Block" the take will be removed from the track but the file will still be open.

If you are simply recording over a bad-take make sure that there are no 'slices' in the block (for example, a new take is slightly shorter than the old take. You will be able to see a 'slice' where the new recording ends and the old continues. If that is the case you should right-click and destroy the extra slice at the end. If you are using CEP 2.x you can open the organizer window to view all files that are open. This is handy to see if any of your unwanted files are open. ;-)

Hello, thanks. I was recording over the bad takes. From now on I'll follow your advice and destroy the unwanted take or I'll try opening the organizer window tomanage the files that way. Thanks
