I am buying a new PC and I need advice on what kind of sound card to get. I want something that is not pricy but does a good job when using CEP. Any advice would eb greatly appreciated. i live in Toronto Canada so i would be looking there for a sound card.

My $.02:
Find out what motherboard and CPU chipset your new PC will have and MAKE SURE that any soundcard you get is compatible. Tooo many people posting on all these boards having compatibility problems with pops, snaps, crackles or just plain not working.
Check the websites of the soundcard manufacturers or email them and double-check that your new PC won't have any problems. Also check to make sure there are drivers for the specific OS you're going to use.
As an example, I successfully use and Echo Mia and have had a number of people contact me about my setup but they hadn't looked at Echo's website before buying the card. Echo states specifically what chipsets work with their cards and known troublemakers. This one step can save you a lot of grief.
Good Luck!
