CEP + XP

I am using Windows XP Pro, and CoolEdit. I experience serious stability issues. CEP has a tendancy to crash about after every 3rd or so operation you perform, especially just after saving a mp3 or alike.
The crashguard feature of CEP is ofcourse an angel, and you restart the program and pick up where you left off, but still...

Anyone know about this, or is it just my system that is being haunted?
