Is anyone using a Terratec EWS88MT with CEP1.2a? It's been an excellent
combination on my old machine in Windows '98 but I've recently upgraded to a
1200Mhz Athlon using Windows ME and have had a problem ever since. I record
a first take in CEP which works fine, I click on "stop" when complete and go
for a second take,(the first being sub standard). At this point I get a message
MMSYSTEM004 indicating a driver device conflict. When I close CEP, Windows
gives me a message that MTPanel.exe (the EWS88 control panel) is in use by
another application -cold re-boot is the only cure and I have to do this each time. I've downloaded the latest drivers from Terratec but to no avail. I don't believe CEP is the problem but am at a loss where else to look. Do any of you good people have any thoughts? Should I really be using
a Pentium processor? Was I better of with Windows 98?

Yes, I am also using CEP1.2a, EWS88MT and a Pentium III chip. OS is Win98SE and like you said it works great.
I am planning to upgrade to WindowsXP soon, I don't have experience with WinME, so I can't help you with that.
A good source of information and a lot of knowledge about the EWS88MT can be found at the Yahoo! EWS88MT user group. Check it out at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ews88mt
