Fellow Cool Editors,
I am in the process of upgrading to a P4, Win XP, and RDRAM based system. I had built a new system last year and was going to intall Win 2000 but my Delta 44 sound card needed WDM drivers, and last year Syntrillium didn't support WDM drivers.
To summarize my questions:
- does CEP now support WDM ?
- will there be a problem using CEP with
Pentium 4, considering the P4's new
method of handling calculations ?
- Windows XP...any problems there?
- will Rambus memory cause any problems
I like CEP so much that last year I decided to put my new copy of Win 2000 on the shelf and continue using Win 98 until CEP developed WDM support. Most guys would have just went out and bought new software, but I love CEP and just hope they catch up with current hardware and OS technology.
This is a four part question and I greatly appreciate the time and effort it takes to answer it. Major thanks in advance.

I just switched to a P4 with Windows XP.

So far Cool Edit Pro 1.2a is working great with my Echo Gina 24 and Echo's beta WDM drivers.

I am having a problem with some of my directx plugins and with Clickfix 2000. But all of the transforms that come with Cool Edit are working fine.

My RAM is SD. I was warned that there may be problems using RD but don't know first hand

Thanks Larry,
Regarding RDRAM, you have me worried now. When I asked about RDRAM, it was just sort of an additional question, just to be on the safe side, I didn't really expect to hear any problems with it.
I'm going to post a specific post to make sure RDRAM is going to be OK with CEP.Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

I don't have CEP, but Cool Edit 2000 is working fine on XP with an Echo Mia and 0.66 beta WDM drivers.

I've only just got the card so I haven't done any in-depth testing, but so far all seems well.

Hope this helps
