View Full Version : Version 2
I won't ask where the hell it is and how much longer it's going to be.
All I'll say is it better be soon and it better be damn good... I hope it's worth the wait.

Hmmm, why don't you just call Syntrillium everyday, 10 times a day, and DEMAND the software NOW, no matter what.... OR ELSE! Then again, I don't really think that's such a good idea PERIOD
Err, yep, right Rod. Is that an attempt at humour?

They aught to release Cool Edit Pro now, with bugs and everything so the users will have something to complain about! What good is a program that works all the time?

why don't you just use the damn program and make some music. what the hell are you waiting for? i love this stuff! a killer multitrack program comes out, and it takes almost no time at all before people start moaning for the release of the next version! again...what are you waiting for? different fx? a few new shortcuts? this program is awesome, and i think it's kinda foolish to think there's going to be any drastic changes on the next, long-awaited, where the hell's it at and it better be good version. just use it and make some cool noise instead of this annoying whine.
sorry, just had to vent

I think you are missing two major points.
One: that CEP is a very strong and useful program in spite of it's lack of real time effects and mixing.
Two: that even though real time isn't important to some people it leaves CEP far behind it's competition to many others.

The only real update I wish it had was the ability to have fadars for all tracks visible during mixing and grouped next to each other like in Cakewalk....it's a pain to have to bring each individual track up.
Most of the other apps out there have this capability...why not CEP?

Aren't there 3rd party aps that do that? My Layla came with a mixer, I'm sure there is freeware out there that can do what you want with respect to mixing.
As for the other wished for stuff, in my experience the less I have the more creative I am. I was OK with the LE version of CEP but upgraded only for the vocoder (my bad since I ended up buying a harware vocoder). My efforts are the same between the two versions. CEP 2.0 or 10.5 will not likely change that. I don't want to go back to the 4 track, but it was a simpler time.
I would be happy if 2 was 1.2a with MIDI!
