Fellow Audiophiles,
I've not been online for over a month. It all started with a bad modem, replaced the modem, still couldn't get online, .....
changed settings
reloaded Win 98
checked for viruses
reformatted all hard drives
bought new computer
replaced phone line
phone co. checked line
...still couldn't get online with MSN.Called 32 times, some techs admitted MSN's network was screwed up because of Sept 11 NYC attack (although my problem began Aug 23).
Anyway, I'm now finally back online with AOL.
But since I had to save all the CEP sessions I had going (on my hard drives) to CD, now that its time to reload them, they open in 16 bit, and not the 32 bit (actually 24)that I recorded them as.
I didn't anticipate this, but I guess I should have.
Is there anyway to convert these back to 24 bit.
This is actually on my second computer, which I call my DAW, and not the PC I had to replace. But since I used to network my two computers together, I reformatted my DAW also just in case a virus came through the network.

By the way, my old username here at Audio Forums used to be Guitardog, but since I had to re-register and have a new email address, its now DCO.

Err you didnt check the 'limit playback to 16 bit' in settings by mistake did you? Or '16 bit Pre Mixes'?

I'm not sure I followed all your thread - you are playing these sessions on your old computer or new one? - can they both play 24bit?

Hi,

You can convert your 16 bit sessions back to 32 (24) bit. Goto "file / convert wave".
