Please help! I have researched and bought this gear and am having a tought time getting it all working together.
Gear to be connected:
Yamaha 01V - midi in, out, thru
MY8AT Adat Card - Optical in, out
PC - Ensoniq Audio PCI card - Midi conn (15 pin)
RME Hammerfall - Optical in-out, break-out cable w/SPDIF in/out
Boss DR-5 - Midi in/out
Alesis DM5 drum module - Midi in, out/thru
Alesis Adat - optical in, out
Quickshot midi keyboard - midi out, joystick(15 PIN) in
Scenario #1 - 13 sources routed into 01V. 7 drum mics, bass, guitar 1, guitar 2, 3 vocals. Want to record 7 drum mics onto 2 tracks on ADAT, use other 7 tracks for remaining instruments. Please explain necessary cable patches and routing in 01V.
Scenario #2 - Play Electronic drums thru Alesis DM5 and have midi notes appear in Cakewalk. Quantize/edit in Cakewalk and playback using Dm5 for sounds.
Scenario #3 - Sequence drums in Cakewalk and use either DR-5 or DM-5 for drum sounds
Please explain these connections and any others that you think might work. I have no problem adding gear, but I'd like to master these pieces before I do so.
I don't really want to get rid of any of this as I think switching gear all the time will just back me up.
Does anyone else find the 01V tough to master or am I just making something simple extra difficult?
