Drum controller/pad

I have been thinking of getting a cheap simple drum pad controller so i can physically play the drum parts, but use the sounds from my other synths.

I have seen for under $100 the CASIO LD-80 which has midi functionality, but can't find out any specifics on what midi features it has. Does anyone know if this would work for me? Would I be able to re-assign each pad to a sound on one of my external synths or sampler?

Any other equivilantly prices options?

Musician's friend has yamaha dd50 for $179 it has 7 pads and 2 foot triggers.It also has midi out/in.

Just FYI, go for the new DD55 instead of the DD50. The fifties don't last at all. Cheap parts I assume.
