Help in XV-88 settings to work midi in Sonar...

I have local control set to off in xv-88. I have instr. definitions, midi inputs selected(which is an aardvark direct pro) yet when I select a patch or try to play any midi I get no sound. Any help appreciated.

Do you see the midi light, light up on the XV88 while playing the sequencer? Does the XV has it's own speakers? If not, do you have the XV output connected to the input of your PC sound card?
