Looking for the warm analog synth stuff that was used by "Journey". What board(s) did Jonathan Cain use? Same for Genisis and Tony Banks?
Thanks.
If I remember right, Jonathan Cain used a red grand piano and a Prophet 5 early on, but switched to Roland Jupiter 8's later on (around "Frontiers"). After that...?
Tony Banks used a lot of different gear over time, ranging from Hammond organ, Mellotron, RMI electric piano and ARP Pro Soloist & 2600 early on...eventually moving on to Prophet 10's, Yamaha CP-70b electric grand, ARP Quadra and Synclavier (around "abacab" and later), and other stuff over time. Here's a site that lists some of his gear:

Hope that helps! :-)

Nice site, thanks!
A friend told me that the Korg DW-8000 was also used a lot.
Hmmm...never heard of Tony Banks using the DW-8000 (or any Korg gear, for that matter).
I know Keith Emerson used to endorse a lot of Korg stuff in the 80's, though, and mentioned the DW-8000 in several interviews around the time of Emerson, Lake and Powell's one album...

Speaking of RMI, does anyone know which piece of Roland gear has the RMI Rock-si-chord samples? I know for sure they are in something by Roland; perhaps they are also on a sample CD? Would love to get my fingers on that sound!
thanks.
