Thats a ridiculous Subject heading, The word pod just makes me think of space aliens or something. http://www.audioforums.com/forums/smile.gif

but really I am thinking of going pod, and have some questions bout the pod.

Do you ever mic your amps for recording guitar anymore or does it's amp similation do the job now?

Has anyone compared the pods hardware amp similation settings to any software amp similators? How do they compare?

How do you set up your signal chain when recording guitar? Guitar/Cable/Pod/Pre-amp/soudcard? Anyone use any sucessful alternatives to that?

My view is that I think I should get something like the pod that is meant for digital recording in order to reduce my noise floor and get rid of the intruding sounds induced by amping a microphone? Gee wiz I think I just type amping a micriphone I mean micing and amp. Oops I did. Sorry, I think I may have had Timany Martwonies http://www.audioforums.com/forums/biggrin.gif

Thanks

I started my last project with intention of using the POD direct for as much of the guitars as I could and then Micing my cabinet when the POD wasn't cutting it. My cabinet never got plugged in.

Has anyone compared the pods hardware amp similation settings to any software amp similators? How do they compare?

The only amp simulation software I've used is the Sansamp protools plugin. For me there is no comparison. The POD blows it away.

I sometimes use my straight into line inputs on my 001, but mostly I just go digital SPDIF out of the POD into my computer
