Gigabyte GA-7VAXP VIA KT400

any know about this board for audio recording? A friend is getting one for his daw (athlon processer) and i told him to keep away from VIA. But maybe some people have good experience?

the other board to consider is

MSI KT4 Ultra-FISR KT400

Stay away from Gigabyte like you would via. Get Asus or Abit. But my vote goes to Asus. Some ppl think they have all the bells and whitles but when those options include quieting the fan by slowing it down to what you actualy use, then it's not just bells and whistles anymore. Quite a few peeps would pay to quiet their fan noise. CPU overheat protection, etc tell him to GET ASUS. I have a nVidia chipset on mine with a build in GEforce2 card, I can enable or disable it if I want to play music or games http://www.audioforums.com/forums/biggrin.gif, built in dolby sound sound to so I don't have to use my Audiophile for games as well. I can disable either soundcard or built-in soundcard on the fly.
