Ok, i have a pretty average guitar at the moment (Yamaha Pacifica 112) <- Actually not that bad for it's price. I have the digitech RP2000, behringer composer pro, and behringer tube pre.
No matter how much i play around, i can't get a good (by good, i mean gilmour in dogs and time and comfortable numb) sound for solo's, it either sounds too thin, too weak, too digital, or just too **** , but i can't match these sounds!
I've heard of studio techniques like mic-ing an amp with a blanket over it, or something to that extent, but i'd really rather get these sounds just by using hardware (racks and effects).
Anyone know how i can come close to this??
ps; i'm aware of the **** in - **** out principle so (eventually) i'm getting a PRS Custom 22, but the Yamaha ISN'T THAT BAD! so i still should be able to get something useful out of it.. shouldn't i?
