AKAI S2000 EB16 Sampleverb Multi-Effects Processor Board - can any one tell me what effects this board does and how good they are, as i could buy an out board fx unit for half the price.
Hi, The EB16 Sampleverb Multi-Effects Processor Board (http://service.bfast.com/bfast/click?bfmid=5607334&siteid=20583305&bfpid=700786&bfmtype=gear) doesn't have the greatest reverb. It's ok, but not good enough for what I wanted.
What I did is get the Multi-8 Digital In/Out Board (http://service.bfast.com/bfast/click?bfmid=5607334&siteid=20583305&bfpid=700748&bfmtype=gear) (which has 8 analog outs and SPDIF) and then got a few Behringer Modulizer Pro DSP1200P (http://service.bfast.com/bfast/click?bfmid=5607334&siteid=20583305&bfpid=182453&bfmtype=gear)'s and used Cakewalk to change patches etc...
I use (3) DSP1200's and one Wedge. I get 8 outs each with there own effects.

Get an out-board unit. Many to choose from for the price of that EB16. I don't remember exactly, but I think the EB16's price was like $3-400 or something. Not worth $150 in my book. My S3000XL came with it and I took it out and sold it and used my Lexicon MPX100. Now I use Carvin's XP2 for only $200. You have many choices for great out-board effects in the $200-399 price range. If you can find an EB16 for like $50 then get it. Otherwise, forget it.
