I want to play a little keyboards(with all their funky sounds) on some of my songs. I went over to my Dads friend's house last night and he had a really nice Korg Triton ProX audio work station. He had a bunch of great music that he had written himself. So that got me interested in getting a keyboard for a little music every once and a while. (main instrument is 12 string acoustic, a Taylor 555 to be precise.) So I was wondering what would be a good keyboard to go for in the $500 range. Used is fine. I just want something that will make some neat sounds like drums/strings/maybe a little guitar for fun.
Thanks for any recommendations,
Daniel

PS I cannot get over how cool that Triton was.

Yamaha CS2x is a great sounding synth and can be found used under 500$ It has great strings and pads. IT would also make a good controler keyboard.

Any other thoughts? I think I already said I would like for it to have midi so I can control my pc. And maybe with touch sensitive keys...sound is made by the velocity the keys are being pressed.
Thanks a lot,
Daniel

Find an old sampler like an Ensoniq EPS-16
or some other reasonable facsimile. Any older sampler will surely come with a box of disks, full of "weird" sounds... I got mine for $500 and I got about 150 disks, with 3-4 sounds each....
Plus, you can make your own sounds, by sampling other instruments....
