Does anyone know a good Midi controller
with knobs that works well together with
my Oberheim Matrix 1000. Itīs such a nice synthesizer and I think itīs a shame that
I donīt use it more often. Iīve heard that Access Midi Tools in Germany once had a "Matrix Controller", but they donīt make them anymore.
Of course Iīm interested in buying a used one if there is any out there....
thanks
Magnus

Can the 1000 receive continuous controllers, and are they assignable? Can they talk thru sysex? Most controllers work by sending cc's (and on rather occasion sysex) to control thinks like filter cutoff, lfo speed and such.

What are you looking to do?

MIDI is pretty standard, and controllers don't vary that much, it really depends how 'flexible' the 1000 is.

If you give me more info I may be able to point you in the right direction.

i'm wondering if an emu launch pad [or doeppfer rack controller - i hope that's how you spell it] will work w/ the ob m1k. i use an ob xk controller. it has some nice features but is definitely lacking in the knobs dept. Originally posted by magnus:

miditech has a 49-key controller that has 12 programmable knobs... it goes for $200 or so in the US.

Peavey PC1600x
Kenton has the same controller, too.
The two is very powerful for all MIDI equipment
