How is the latency? How does it manage the USB restrictions? Is it OK to use full duplex, since it's only 48 kHz?

I have heard in a number of places that the US series interfaces do NOT work well with Mac OSX.

That might be correct, but the good thing about the US-122 is that it will benefit from the experience with the older models. And: Drivers do improve, so the question is weather the problems have been fixed.
And excactly what isn't working well?

Tascam and Frontier claim that the v3.2.2 drivers have fixed the OSX audio "fizzle" problems that were reported by many on the Tascam forums. Apparently the audio stream was erratic starting up, or it dropped out. By the way, some speculate that the Tascam forums were taken down because of all the complaints.
If anyone is having great success with a US series interface and OSX, I'd love to hear about it. I'm still shopping but wary of Tascam.

What about the issue of driver compatability with Windows XP? When I installed my Tascam US-122 drivers, I got a warning message indicating these drivers had not passed Microsoft's compatability testing and therefore had not received the "Designed For Windows XP" certification.
Wouldn't this be a potentially serious problem if not immediately, perhaps down the road? Has Tascam since issued "Designed For Windows XP" driver updates to correct this?
Thanks . . .
