Can I run my OS on an IDE hard drive and my
music on a scuzzy drive? Any inherent conflicts?

I currently run my programs on a 20 gig IDE drive and I have two 20 Gig SCSI drives for audio data and a fan cooled SCSI CD burner for burning my master CD's.
You can use IDE drives for all your audio needs, the suggestions is to get the highest rpm drive available, but I like the "industrial strength" of SCSI drives and the higher throughput they provide.
I started using SCSI six or seven years ago when the only alternative for audio was to buy an "A/V" drive that didn't stop in the middle of data streams and recalibrate. I have had several IDE drives fail in the last four years but never had a failure from one of my four SCSI drives.

Years ago I was told you can't have both.
So I never pursued the option thereafter.
I have a lotta old hard drives floating about, atapi cards etc - in those days the cards were 200 bucks !
Now useles boards I wonder why I keep this stuff. If you need old atapi stuff you can have it BTW
I also wonder if i threw in an old scuz in one of the machines ...... that would be dumb huh ?
