i'm sorry to admit that i'm relatively newbish to the world of audio (my strengths normally reside in video), but i figured if anyone could help me out it'd be on this board. my query has to do with computer audio configuration. i have creative 5.1 5300's, and soundblaster audigy gamer, a dsp-500 headset, and a 50 watt Dean Markley amplifier. only the 5.1 speakers are hooked up to my soundcard. i mostly use my soundsystem for gaming and music listening, with strong emphasis on gaming, because i have a more suitable stereo for music.

i was wondering how i might hook up my headset directly to the subwoofer, or replace the subwoofer with the amp, or any other suggestions any of you might have for the best environmental sound i can possibly achieve with these components. you're the experts. please help.

Go to Logitech website. Have a look at the Z-540's or 560's. For around 150 bucks you can have 4.1 400 watts with subs. You would need front and back outs on your soundcard though.
Ps. If you hook up the headphones to the sub out you will get nada cause its unpowered in most instances.
If you hook the amp up to the sub out you will get a signal that can be generated by the amp. However 50 watts is kinda puny.
If you hook up an ah350smx with a full stack 2x10's and a 15, you would be getting close to what the Logitech's can put out for about 100 times the cost http://www.audioforums.com/forums/smile.gif
Good luck.
Pss. I hope you know that tinkering around like you are doing can lead to a very expensive, time consuming, hobby, job, pastime........
