How to connect studio monitors through a PC?

I just recently got 2 Fostex monitors and i would like to play my computer's sound card out them. Does anyone know how to do this?:D

Also, I should probably add that i have a Digidesign Factory 2 Mbox. The options are there to change it in the control panel but nothing ever happens...

Connect the output from the MBox to the inputs to the Speakers. Adjust volume.

If you are on windows set the system sounds to route through the Mbox

If they are active (powered monitors) do as dcwave said in his post.

If they are passive (unpowered), you'll have to go from the Mbox to an amplifier and from the amp to the speakers.

You can connect studio monitor through pc via firewire. for this you have to buy adapters, after that just plug them into your studio monitors and into your pc.
