Ok, I will outline my problem as best I can. I am currently using FL to record my own tracks with an acoustic mic, my vocals, and an acoustic guitar. I also want to add some instrumental *.mp3 tracks I have to some projects.

I have NO PROBLEM recording vocals into FL. I found a tutorial, easy as pie. I have no problem recording my guitar, see above.

Now, the mp3's are posing a problem. I was told to add an audio clip channel, that I can do. I was then told to click on the title, and to open my song in the folder. That I can do. I press play...no volume. No sound, nothing.

Second method I was instructed to try was to open the playlist, (Which I can do) and to add the track on the bottom, below the pattern fields. I have nothing below pattern. I scrolled down to pattern 999, there is *nothing* below it.

I feel like I am about to lose my mind...I was on a roll with FL, I managed to record quite a nice acoustic/vocals 2-track song without any major difficulty, but now this Mp3 problem is frustrating me greatly.

Any assistance as to what further steps I can take would be appreciated.

It looks like it's a bug inside FL. Make sure you have the last version. Are you sure the mp3 is not opened in an external media player accidently, while opening it in FL? If this still doesn't work, try to convert the mp3 to wav using an external application and import the wav into FL instead. You can use Audacity for this.

Check here: http://flstudio.image-line.com/help/html/chansettings_sampler.htm

When you have a sampler channel and you open the mp3, do you see the waveform like in the manual page?

If it's there then you should be able to hear it, and put an audio clip for it in the playlist.
