Im just wondering if anyone knows of a PC notebook that will support the use of soundfonts (via Sonar).
any info appreciated!

You'll probably want to use software for that... If there was such a thing, I wouldn't recommend choosing a laptop on that basis, when it might also offer only a small amount of memory to them, and generally probably have no benefit over software.

You'd have to use a VST-to-DX wrapper, but I can recomend Bismark's BS-16 soundfont VSTi, coupled with a good size GeneralMidi soundfont (I use Unison or Cadenza, both free from hammersound.net)
I'm waiting for VSampler3 to get out of beta to final release or you could use GigaStudio or any of the other midi samplers that also read soundfonts.
