Well, first of all, I am not used to the plastic case.

I have borrowed (2) Bose 802 cabinets: have the eq box as well, and borrowed a Makie, (Tapco J2500), 1000 watt amp.

All looks good for a trio, I figure, no monitor mix.

So far i have a dinosaur yamaha board that will work.

The question... run the Bose at Full range or 2-wave passive

I work in a theatre with 4x 802s (L,R & 2 as a centre cluster), and the Bose bass cannon. The 802s have pretty much no bass or lower mid and even with the cannon its still pretty lame. I'm guessing if your in a trio you are using these spks as a gig PA which in bars are stuff the 802s are clean and not too over powering but I would recommend a small active sub to add a bit of balls into them. With a sub and the width of the stereo field on the bose that should be a sweet setup for small bars and clubs.

We have 3 of these running in our small cinema and they work great but I much prefer the D&Bs E12s or a pair of Q7s.
Hope that is some help

Thanks Boom, cool idea on the sub.
the Bose are gratis, so no need to buy more 'stuff', however,
the active sub is a definate look.
