Problems with PreSonus and Samson C01 condenser

I'm having problems with my Presonus Firebox and Samson C01 condenser mic. I connect the cable to the firewire port just fine and my computer recognizes my interface but when I plug my mic into the first input and turn the phantom power I'm not able to record with the mic.

I'm also running a Mac OSX 10.4.10 if thats important
