I'm trying to edit a song to have it end near the middle. I want to stretch out the last note and have it fade out (you'll know what I mean if you click the link), but when I mess around with the settings in Audition, I can't get it to sound right. Here's the part I'm working with now:

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how I could do this, since I'm still kind of new to the program. I've tried a combination of fading and pitch bending, but that kind of ruins the quality and doesn't come out the way I wanted it to.

Can it possibly be pulled from the actual end of the song? How does it end? That would be the easiest bet, is just to do some surgery on the whole song and move then ending up to the middle. There's no way to replicate the natural decay of the note, that is what your problem is going to be.

The actual ending of the song doesn't really fit into this part; the tempo changes about halfway through (I think tempo is the right word, but I don't know much about music) so I can't really move that to this part of the song. Getting it to sound like the actual ending isn't important, I just want it to sound better than being cut off all of a sudden.
