I used a male/male 3.5mm cable to connect a cassette stereo boombox to my PC going from the headphone jack to the line-in. I want to use Audacity (or any software) to copy studio recorded cassette tapes to my PC. When I play the cassette player, the sound only comes out of one speaker. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? My motherboard is a GIGABYTE GA-EP43-UD3L.

Never mind. I pulled the cable out and back in the PC and now it's working correctly. :o

You might get a distorted sound if you are using the headphone output of your boombox.

The headphone output is a "driven" (amplified) signal designed to drive headphones and might be too hot for your line in...although maybe not.
