I would like to listen to high quality (320K, and Lossless) audio stored on my Mac pro. I found a great PS Audio DAC. It connects to the Mac via USB and the amp via XLT balanced audio.
The issue is there is no gain control so the amp and speakers are driven at full volume
I am using the default Mac USB codec. Are there any alternatives to the MAC codecs lat allow me to control gain being sent to the DAC> then on to the AMP?
I know I can buy a preamp but it seems more than a little redundant, to do.
I am not stuck on this exact solution so if any one has a way to play high quality audio songs form their Mac Pro to a high end music system please let me know
