Troubled playback

Hi,

When I'm listening to songs, if there's any other momentary load in the system, however small, I hear audible clicks. By load I mean updating tags for some audio files, opening a tab in firefox, opening windows explorer.

Mine is a Core 2 duo, 2 gb ram system with on-board (Soundmax) and Delta 1010lt sound cards. Audio playback is not supposed to suffer much for simple loads like these. Kind of killing me, anybody got an idea?

Hey ananth, welcome to the forums,

You should have un-installed the Soundmax card before installing the Delta.

Best bet....uninstall both, then reinstall the Delta....forget the Soundmax.

If you desire the Soundmax as well, install afterwards.

Never thought it could be some driver issue. Sounds reasonable. Will try and update here.

itsplayed, I think it worked!

I uninstalled both the drivers. Reinstalled only Delta.

Earlier, at any time only one application could access Delta. So if my music player (foobar/winamp) is open I won't be able to open my DAW. Now this problem is resolved. No conflicts anymore.

The clicks/disturbances are mostly gone too. I heard some clicks when updating some tags. Anyways that's alright, minimal.
