Hello all

I am new to this forum and I am having a few problems with recording into cubase sx using my delta 44.The system i am using info

Motherboard:EVGA LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI FTW ATX Intel Motherboard

Proccesor:Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 Yorkfield 2.83GHz

Memory:OCZ Platinum 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM

OS:Windows XP

Audio is onboard using realtek audio i use this for the speakers and playback
I install the Delta 44 with the breakout box to connect my Fantom G7 to.there seems to be several conflict going on that i cannot figure out.I use cubase sx and i cannot recieve a signal at all but if i switch to live 6 which came with the delta 44 i recieve a signal but the latency is far behind what i am actually playing making it very dificult to keep in time.I would rather use cubase as i know it a little better than Live if anyone has any suggestions on how i can use the inputs on the delta 44 and the output from my mother board and recording through cubase sx i would appreciate it.

Yes im a newb at this lol

From the sounds of it, you have it configured totally wrong. First of all, ditch the onboard sound ,go into your BIOS and turn it off! The Delta 44 is capable of taking care of all your ins and outs plus playback, I strongly suspect this is the cause of the latency. I think the reason cubase isn't working is because it insist on using ASIO as the driver, it certainly will not support realtek.

You need to be using the Delta 44 output 1/2 as your main left/right out (for your monitors). Install the latset driver from Maudio's website. Go into windows sounds and make sure the Delta 44 is selected, that will take care of CD playback. To get cubase working, Launch cubase, then go into 'device setup' and select the 'delta 44 ASIO' driver, Then, go to VST connections and activate the the inputs and outputs, it should be: 1 stereo out 1/2 and 4 mono ins 1,2,3,4. This should get it all working.

ok i have disabled the onboard sound and setup the ins and outs of cubase and now it is recieving the signal. i recorded a very short test peice to sample the quality and i do not hear anything i have headphones plugged into the out port of the breakout box and i cannot hear myself play.Note that the recorded peice i can hear only when i use in cubase the speaker tool when i place it on the wave the music plays that i have recorded but when i press play to listen to it it plays but with no sound any suggestions ?

ok those settings work and now i hear what i am playing thankyou very much for that.the latency is now gone and everything seems to be working well other than the playback of what is recorded is not coming through when i play what i have recorded in cubase unless i use the speaker icon that you place on the point of the wave that you recorded anything with that ? i think it is a cubase setting not anything else but i dont know what its called or how to change it so it plays when i press play.

i am using the latest drivers for the delta 44 Delta_WDM_5.10.00.5057v3 which looked to be the newest.

Make sure on the output on the Driver that output1/2 is set to 'monitor' that should fix it.
