hello,

i bought the above a couple of weeks ago and have had problems with the drivers (i think) ever since. I use sonar 8 and when playing a vsti and running only a couple of audio tracks, the audio crackles and slows down like mad.

i have checked all the obvious stuff: cpu load, volume etc. i run a fairly fast pc - xp pro configured just for music, no wireless devices, 4 gig ram, core 2 duo 2.4 and sata storage. i have other usb devices hooked up too - a vestax vci 100, e-mu midi controller and ive tried disconnecting these systematically. still no use. the drivers just seems crap for the fast track?? maybe a conflict with my mobo? its a gigabyte g series...? there is a radion pcie card. ive switched off hardware acceleration and that did appear to work for a bit, but then it happened again. im close to listing this nightmare kit on ebay!

my os is xp pro and its a new install. everything else works like clockwork.

any help / advice / pointers and comaprisons will be very gratefully recieved!!

thanks.

Check:
1) that you've selected the dedicated driver of your soundcard. This is mostly an ASIO driver. A Multimedia or Directx driver is not preferred.
2) that your soundcard has direct access to your coffee machine.
3) the buffer size and try to increase it. This has a direct relation with latency. You will need the control panel of your card.
